I really suck at this whole blogging thing now. Wow's been keeping me busy among other things. I'm down to 198.7 pounds so says the scale this morning. I fit into the bridesmaids dress for Cassie's wedding which is good since the wedding is next week. MUST continue eating healthy and working out to make sure the dress continues to fit! Tonight I stumbled across a shake like recipe I liked.
1 cup Spinach (7 calories)
1 cup Strawberries (49 calories)
1 Tbs Chia Seeds (70 calories)
1 Scoop Cookies and Cream Protein Powder (130 calories)
1 cup Silk Milk Vanilla (70 Calories)
2 Tbs Splenda (Free)
Topped with 2 Tbs Lite Cool Whip (20 calories) and 1 tsp sliced almonds (27 calories)
In total the shake was 373 calories with toppings and it was delicious! I ate it with an oatmeal cookie I made yesterday from the following recipe originally taken from Pinterest and slightly tweaked.
1/2 cup Dark Chocolate Chips (560 calories)
3/8 cup Splenda (Free)
1 1/2 cup Quick Oats (460 calories)
2 Bananas (210 calories)
2/3 cup apple sauce (67 calories)
1/3 cup peanut butter (516 calories)
1/4 cup sliced almonds (324 calories)
Bake @ 350 F for 30 minutes. Makes 15 cookies, each cookie is 143 calories. Mine are a bit higher in calories than the original recipe but slightly tastier for a pickier eater (read: my husband) so I'm happy with them.
Overall dinner ended up being a bit higher in calories than I wanted but since I had a super hard workout today I'm cool with it. I needed the extra sustenance.

Day 1
Breakfast: Cereal, 1% milk and chia seeds
Lunch: Veggie Omelet
Snack: Large Apple
Splurge: 1/2 cup of Strawberry Daiquiri
Dinner: Salad, Broccoli and Turkey Meatlaof
Alright so I didn't count calories today, sort of a fail way to start out. But I was busy! Woke up and got ready, went to church, went grocery shopping, cooked meals for the week (omelets, meatloaf, meatballs and chili), did boatloads of laundry, watched approximately 1/4 of the steelers game, hung pictures in my bathroom (FINALLY!) ate dinner, pinned a few fitness ideas and now I'm going for a walk with Brad. Once we get back I have to actually fold and put away ALL the laundry I did earlier and shower and I'm already exhausted now so I'm guessing I'll just fall into bed once that is all done.
But I'm optimistic. This usually only lasts a day or two, for some reason this time I think it will be different. This time it has to work. I want to be healthy, I need to get healthy, now's the best time I'm ever going to have. Plus the added bonus of a doctor lecturing me come Tuesday and a bet with Jim so that I don't have to sit in front of a computer and want to shoot myself doing tedious nonsense 2 hours a day for weeks. Yes, now is the time!
Starting Weight: 204.2 lbs.
First Goal: To lose 8 pounds by Cassie's Wedding on October 13th.
Update: 40 minute walk with Husband & 20 Jumping Jacks/20 Crunches
Lunch: Veggie Omelet
Snack: Large Apple
Splurge: 1/2 cup of Strawberry Daiquiri
Dinner: Salad, Broccoli and Turkey Meatlaof
